NCEED participated in the third annual Baltimore Schools in the Court Day at the Maryland District Court on April 20. The day is coordinated by Judge Diana Smith, a Morgan State alumna, and is centered on the theme “Choices and Consequences.” This year, students from Douglass High School attended the event. fSTAR Pillar lead Walter Fields spoke to the students about the consequences of their choices during their academic journey and how those choices can affect their college and career aspirations. Other presenters were from the State’s Attorney’s Office, the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, the Baltimore City Police, and the Baltimore City Health Department. NCEED was instrumental in planning for the first Baltimore Schools in the Court Day.
