Dr. Simone Nicholson is an engineer, social scientist, and educator whose work sits at the intersection of STEM education, gender studies, and science and technology studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Education from Tufts University (2026), an M.A. certificate in Women and Gender Studies from Florida International University (2024), and a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University (2018).

Previously, a STEM Education Program Administrator at Tufts University’s School of Engineering, Simone co-led Access to Computing Equity residential program (ACE++), an initiative supporting underrepresented students in Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering. Her research examines equity-centered STEM pedagogy, HBCU institutional transformation, and energy justice, supported by fellowships with the NSF GRFP, GEM, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Dr.Nicholson is an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
